Sony Malaysia launched VAIO Fit and VAIO Tab series

Sony Malaysia extended its VAIO family by adding the new VAIO Fit and VAIO Tap 11 series. Featuring a new multi-flip hinge, VAIO Fit can be converted between laptop, tablet and viewer modes to maximize both laptop usability and touch operation. On the other hand, the VAIO Tap 11 is currently holding the record of having the world’s thinnest body for tablets.

The VAIO Fit will be available in three sizes: 13.3 inches, 14 inches and 15.5 inches. These models come with touch-enabled Full HD resolution displays featuring Sony’s Triluminos display technology and X-Reality Engine from its Bravia TV family, the latest 4th-generation INtel Core processor, with up to 8GB of RAM. The 13.3-inch model comes bundled with a digitizer stylus, as well as a 8MP Exmor RS for PC rear camera at the bottom of the device, while the 15.5-inch VAIO Fit features dedicated graphics, which is an NVIDIA GeForce GT735M GPU.

VAIO Tap 11

The VAIO Tap 11 which was is claimed as the world’s thinnest Windows 8 tablet with Intel Core processors, measures at only 9.9mm thick and weighs at 1.1kg.  The VAIO Tap 11 comes in two variants: one powered by a 4th-gen Intel Core i5 processor, and another with an Intel Pentium 3560Y processor. The new VAIO Tap 11 features an 11.6 Full HD touch display with Triluminos and X-Reality Engine, and uses Sony’s OptiContrast panel technology. Both variants feature an Exmor R for PC HD webcam and a 8MP Exmor RS for PC rear camera sensor. There’s also up to4GB of RAM (2GB on the lower-end variant), and both variants feature a 128GB SSD as standard.

Both the VAIO Fit multi-flip PC and VAIO Tap 11 tablet will be available in Sony Stores nationwide from December 2013. The VAIO Fit retails from RM3699 up to RM5999, while the Intel Pentium-powered VAIO Tap 11 retails at RM2999 and the Intel Core-powered Tap 11 will be available at RM3999.
