LG Shows photo of LG G Watch

One week after Motorola announced its Android Wear device – the Moto 360,  LG Electronics tweeted a new picture of the G Watch to offer a clearer look at the upcoming smartwatch. The company announced that its LG G Watch would be the first wearable release to be powered by Android Wear, the new wearable platform from Google Inc.

[more…] Since LG says that the G Watch will be the first smartwatch release to interact with via the company’s new Android Wear platform, consumers can expect it to release later this spring or by early summer. Google will be unveiling more details about the Android Wear program at I/O, its annual developer’s conference. Since it has given away free hardware to attendees every year, Google could offer developers a free LG G Watch on June 25-26.

According to gadget leaker Evleaks,  the G Watch includes a 280 x 280 resolution, offering 240 pixels-per-inch (ppi). Evleaks said LG has not yet chosen a processor for the smartwatch, but that it would feature 512MB of RAM and 4GB of ROM storage, similar to Samsung’s recently announced Gear 2.
