For the five days from 4-8 June 2013, the eyes of global IT have been focused on COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2013 with the largest ICT marketing venue. This hub of ICT is packed with 1,724 exhibitors using 5,042 booths. They represent every facet of the industry with top companies like Acer, ASUS, Avantech, Delta, Transcend, Intel, Microsoft, AMD, Corning, Ford, Marvell, WD and Bayer who are joined by the USA Pavilion, Korean Pavilion and 4 other international pavilions.

Opening ceremony and D&I Awards
The opening ceremony at COMPUTEX TAIPEI 2013 was attended by Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-Jeou. He presented d&i golden awards to five outstanding companies, which were ASUSTEK Computer Inc, Conary Enterprise Co., HTC, OAXIS Holdings and Silverstone Technology Co.
The golden award winning product, the NEW HTC ONE smartphone by HTC, is the world’s first all metal back mobile device. It has become an instant hit on the few markets where it has already been released. Other COMPUTEX d&i golden award winners were the Conary Enterprise Co.’s iPin laser presenter, the world’s smallest mobile-powered laser presenter; OAXIS Holdings for OAXIS LOOP android TV box that beams content and android apps from handheld devices right onto the big screen; and Silverstone Technology Co. for its Air Penetrator AP123 computer fan with three blades of distinct shapes and sizes that reduce 66% of noise frequency.

Ms Computex
Ms Computex has been another highlight of the event. In celebrating the 33rd Computex Taipei, TAITRA has selected the new Ms. Shahad Huang, who best displays innovative design of diverse ICT products. Shahad was selected from a shortlist of contestants by a panel of judges for her elegance and international outlok and her high level of proficiency in Mandarin, English and Arabic.
