Asus to reportedly reveal Nexus 7 2 this month

Though there’s no new Nexus devices announced during the I/O Conference, it’s not surprising that Google is planning a follow up to the Nexus 7 tablet due to its huge popularity. According to an unverified report, Asus technical support apparently leaked some details of the new Nexus 7 in a chat with a customer.

The next generation of the Google tablet will apparently feature a 7-inch high-definition screen with the choice of an extra fast 4G internet connection.

The Nexus 7 2 is claimed to have 32GB of internal storage with a 5-megapixel camera and an additional 1.2-megapixel camera on the front. The tablet will also include a massive 4,000mAh battery – an impressive jump from the previous Nexus power pack.

The screen resolution is said to be 1980 x 1200 which is a jump from the current Nexus 7’s 1280 x 800 screen. It is expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor and 32GB internal storage.

The report also says it will run the new Android 4.3, however it’s yet to be verified whether this is the rumored Key Lime Pie update. According to the leak, the Nexus 7 2 will be unveiled at the end of this month so thankfully we don’t have too long to wait.
