Acer unveils Iconia A1, Aspire P3 & Aspire R7

In a press conference in New York, Acer unveil its hottest new products of the season, including the Iconia A1 tablet, Aspire P3 Ultrabook and Aspire R7 notebook.

Iconia A1

The Android tablet boasts a 7.9-inch IPS display with 1,024 x 768 resolution. It measures 11.1mm thick,  runs a 1.2GHz quad-core processor from MediaTek, and comes with either 8GB or 16GB of internal storage as well as built-in 3G.

Aspire P3 Ultrabook

The Aspire P3 is known as the “ultrabook convertible” which is a tablet and detachable keyboard dock running Windows 8, with a Core i3 or i5 processor. It has an 11.6-inch HD display, weighs 3.06 pounds, and is about 3/4 of an inch thick. Acer promises more than six hours of battery life, fast boot and resume times, and the HDMI and USB 3.0 ports.

Aspire R7

Acer calls the Aspire R7 as “the notebook designed for touch”. It is a 15-inch laptop whose display sits on a flexible “Ezel” hinge, allowing it to be pushed up and back so that it lies nearly flat. The Aspire R7 features a 1080p touchscreen and it’s powered by an ultra-low voltage Intel Core i5 processor. It has Dolby Home Theater audio, a 500GB hard drive, a 24GB SSD, three USB 3.0 ports, a Mini DisplayPort, and an HDMI port. Acer is also trumpeting “Screen Grasp” technology, which is essentially an app that lets you use a three-finger tap to take screenshots wherever you’d like.
