Malaysia IT Fair to showcase 80 global brands with 1,000 booths
The Malaysia IT Fair is back. This time, it is bigger with more exhibitors and better deals.
Themed ‘Bringing I.T. closer to you’, the fair that debuted in Kuala Lumpur in January 2011 to resounding success, will spread its wings to eight locations nationwide including Penang, Malacca, Johor Baru, Kuantan, Kota Kinabalu, Terengganu and Ipoh aside from Kuala Lumpur.
The second Malaysia IT Fair for 2011 in Klang Valley will kick off at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from Sept 2 to 4.

Big deals: The Malaysia IT Fair will be travelling to eight cities nationwide over three months.
Organised by Unified Distribution Technologies Sdn Bhd, the fair will showcase more than 80 global brands with more than 1,000 booths over approximately 20,000sq m, making it among the most extensive IT fair with the purpose of providing a platform to showcase the most current technology and consumer electronics offerings to people across the nation.
According to Unified Distribution Technology director Tan Chee Hui, the success of the inaugural Malaysia IT Fair early this year has proven that there is demand and acceptance for technology fairs if the fairs are innovative and offer exhibitors and consumers more than the ordinary.
“The inaugural Malaysia IT Fair in January this year was very well-accepted with more than 150,000 people visiting the three-day fair. More tellingly for exhibitors and consumers many products including big-ticket items such as laptops and portable hard disks were sold out on the final day.
“The Lunar New Year-themed fair charmed consumers and gave exhibitors a marketing platform that they embraced to their benefit,” Tan said.
“Clearly, Malaysians are willing to spend for the upkeep of their digital lifestyle.
“Our success has given us the confidence and the track record to expand to seven other locations outside the Klang Valley to bring consumers and exhibitors together through a nationwide technology fair event with a difference,” said Tan.
Visitors will be entertained by the latest technology of 5D film ride in the fair.
It will also feature auctions of tech must-haves such as iPads, GPS navigation devices, digital cameras and laptops, with quizzes, stage activities and contests ensuring that visitors will be entertained and informed at every turn with gifts for those who participate.
The fair is the first in Malaysia to be security-focused through its collaboration with main sponsor Kaspersky Lab, a global security solutions provider.
The brand will run pre-launch promotions of their flagship products, Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2012 and Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 that are aimed at encouraging consumers to live the digital lifestyle more securely.
With purchase of any Kaspersky 2012 products in Malaysia IT Fair, visitors could surf securely in the cyberspace with additional free Kaspersky optical mouse.
According to Kaspersky Lab South-East Asia channel sales director, Jimmy Fong, the brand has signed as the main sponsor for the second time as consumer feedback from the first fair had been overwhelmingly positive.
