PlayStation 4 VS Xbox One

Both Sony and Microsoft have unveiled their gaming devices, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Microsoft first revealed its Xbox One, which focuses on new games, but the subject of used games and digital rights management (DRM) was glossed over. However, Sony was keen to get one over Microsoft by revealing the PS4 with a cheaper price for the console and a solid used games policy.

Pricing

Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 will launch for $399 / €399 / £349 / AUD$549 this holiday season in the United States and Europe. The PS4’s Eye camera will be sold separately and costs $59. Meanwhile, The Xbox One will be released in November 2013 for $499.99 in the US, £429.99 in the UK and 499.99 Euros in Europe. In Australia, the Xbox One will cost $599.99 AU. One reason this is that the Xbox One’s Kinect camera is no longer optional; it comes bundled with the console.

The PS4 has taken the lead in price and this will be a huge factor when making a purchasing decision for the upcoming 2013 holiday season.

Sony Xperia Tablet Z is now available from RM1499

The Sony Xperia Tablet Z with LTE is now available in Malaysia. The Xperia Tablet Z is arguably the most premium 10.1-inch Android tablet on the market today, thanks to its title of world’s slimmest and lightest water-resistant tablet.

The Xperia Z has the highest levels of water resistance (IP55 and IP57). It is also integrated with a wealth of Sony technology, such as the Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 and Exmor R for mobile camera system. There’s also Sony’s S-Force Front Surround 3D sound that gives powerful audio performance.

The tablet has a 10.1″ Full HD display (1920 x 1200) and 6,000mAh capacity battery. Despite the large display, it weighs only 495 grams and measures 6.99mm thin. The tablet is powered by a Qualcomm 1.5GHz quad-core processor and packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. In terms of camera, it comes with a 8.1MP main shooter and a front facing 2.2MP camera.

The Xperia Tablet Z runs on Android 4.1 on launch, but will be upgradeable to Android 4.2. The RRP for the Wi-Fi variant set at RM1,499 and the LTE variant at RM1,999. HTC One Mini leaked

It has been widely reported that HTC is planning to launch a scaled-down version of its flagship HTC One smartphone. Engadget has posted an image which it claims as the HTC One mini next to the full-sized One smartphone.

The HTC One Mini is likely to be a nearly identical replica to the current flagship, but with a 4.3-inch screen rather than 4.7 inches, and a 720p display instead of a 1080p. The processor will be a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor and it is going to be equipped with an Ultrapixel rear camera. The Mini is expected to have a dual-core and the storage will peak at about 16GB.

Like HTC’s larger smartphone, which BGR called one the best designed Android devices of all time, the mini will feature an all-metal body, front-facing speakers and run Sense 5 atop Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Bloomberg reported earlier this week that the HTC One mini will be available in the U.S. in August.

Apple Unveils iOS7
